The Best Ground Beef Chili Recipe (Beef Chili For Nachos & Fries!)

Warm and hearty, this chili is great in a bowl, as a dip, or for a topping on nachos, hot dogs or fries!

The Best Ground Beef Chili Recipe


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Unsalted Butter

  • 1 or 1 1/2 lbs Ground Beef

  • 1 Medium Onion, Diced

  • 4 Cloves Garlic, Minced

  • 2 cups Fresh Tomatoes, Diced

  • 1 can (15.25 oz) Whole Corn, Drained

  • 1 can (15.5 oz) Pinto Beans, with juice

  • 1 can (15.5 oz) Red Kidney Beans, with juice

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Diced Tomatoes, with juice

  • 1 can (28 oz) Crushed Tomatoes

  • 3/4 tbsp Cumin Powder

  • 1/4 tbsp Cayenne Powder (Or more for more heat)

  • 2 heaping tbsp Chili Powder

  • 1/4 tbsp Black Pepper

  • 1 tbsp Ground Sage

  • 3/4 tbsp Sea Salt (or more to taste)

Optional

  • 1-2 cups Beef Broth to thin, if you prefer a soupier chili

  • Toppings: Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, Green Onions


Directions

  1. Put stockpot on the stove and set burner to low.

  2. Add butter, onions, garlic and beef.

  3. Cook, stirring occasionally until beef is browned and onions are translucent.

  4. Add Cumin, Cayenne, Chili Powder, Black Pepper, Sage & Sea Salt.

  5. Stir until well combined.

  6. Add fresh tomatoes & Stir.

  7. Add canned corn, both beans, diced & crushed tomatoes.

  8. (If you're making a thinner chili, add beef broth now.)

  9. Stir well, put the lid on the pot and let simmer about 10 minutes.

  10. Top with cheese, sour cream, green onions, if desired or use as a topping for nachos, fries or hot dogs. Can also be used as a dip for corn chips.
